About Gamma Sigma Sigma

Mission

Gamma Sigma Sigma promotes a lifelong commitment to service and diversity, in an environment of unity and equality, while creating opportunities for growth.

History

Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority was founded by:

  • Alpha Gamma Chi

  • Booster Squad of Brooklyn College

  • Gamma Sigma Sigma

  • Omega Service Sorority

  • Phi Gamma

  • Women’s Service Organization.

They met at Beekman Towers in New York City on October 12th 1952 for the Constitutional Convention, where they decided the name, colors, and the first charters were given to the schools in attendance.

Purpose

The purpose of the Eta Iota Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority at the University of Texas at Dallas shall be to assemble students of the University of Texas at Dallas in the spirit of service to humanity and to develop friendships among students of all races and creeds.
